For over fifty years, the American Library Association has sponsored National Library Week, a national observance that’s all about aknowledging the wonderful, book-filled places called libraries and the people who staff them. Held in the US during the second full week of April, this year’s Library week will run from April 8th to Saturday, April 14th.
We, feathery library-going birds that we are, will be chitter-chattering about books, borrowing, and more books all this week. In the meantime, though, there are plenty of library and reading-related events to keep your interest. Check out your local library to see what it’s up to or make the click over to Atyourlibrary.org to learn more about how free book borrowing happens.
And while you’re there, you can enter their supershort story contest or tag a six-word Twitter stories with #nlw6words to enter the six-word contest (theme: “You belong @ your library.”)
